You are invited to the big celebration this weekend, to commemorate Ryderwood's 100 Year Centennial. The events start on Friday, July 28, and run until Sunday, July 30. Come join the 3-day event of fun.
The city has washed and repainted itself and many historic signs and statues have been made ready for visitors this weekend.
Susan Kearney who has been hard at work with the centennial stated, "We are making our final plans. Getting set up and ready for our once in our lifetime celebration. Ryderwood is so excited to share our Centennial and History! Our Time capsule is filled with valuable history preservation and ready to be sealed! Hope all will come to help us celebrate!"
On Friday, vendors will be coming in and taking up their places to sell their wares. Look for gifts, trinkets, and food along Main Street. Quilt and raffle ticket sales take place at the Pioneer Hall. Ryderwood history displays will be on show for the people who are interested in the history of the logging industry. The Bruce Maier Band will be live both Friday and Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Main Street.
Saturday kicks off with a Loggers Breakfast at the Community Dining Room from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The quilt show will run all day starting at 9:00 p.m. Don't forget to get your quilt raffle ticket. Look for the historical displays all around town plus see the Ryderwood Centennial Postmark at the Postmaster's Booth on Morse Street. Sculptor Wade Lapp will be on the corner of 2nd and Morse St.
The Centennial Parade line up starts at 10:00 am at the Ryderbooth. The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. and follow the route down Main Street.
At noon will be the Introduction of dignitaries, the Old Timers Dedication and the Seal of Time presentation.
The Ryderwood Community Church has its open house starting at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The RC Boat Races happen at the lake at 3:00 p.m. Come watch Ryderwood residents compete with each other.
Sunday kicks off with another breakfast. This time it is a Continental breakfast served at the Cafe starting at 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. This is followed by the quilt show, Ryderwood history displays and more quilt raffle sales. The drawing for the Centennial Quilt will be at noon. At 10:30 a.m there will be a service at the Ryderwood Community Church.
