Richard Guenther passed away on August 21, 2013. He was born on June 7, 1932 to Sylvester "Boise" Guenther and Olive Leona (Castellion) Guenther. Richard married Mary Brunner 59 years ago on April 24, 1954 at St. Francis Mission, Toledo, Washington. He was a 1951 graduate of Napavine High School.

His employment career consisted of 42 years driving milk truck, or as he called it tricycle fuel.

Family and friends were always important to him and he was always willing to share his time, equipment, knowledge, and crops with them. Richard and Mary built their own home in 1961 and have lived in it ever since. Later they assisted their four sons and daughter in laws in the construction of their own homes.

His enjoyments also included fishing, camping, clam digging, quad riding in the sand, gardening, raising cattle and hogs, card parties, berry picking, making apple cider, sauerkraut, and smoking meats. He also enjoyed luncheons with previous coworkers. Mary always said, "If it had a motor and could be ridden on he loved to operate it".

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James.

Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Guenther, four sons and daughter-in-laws Jerry and Vickie, Dan and Becky, Ron and Andra, and Scott and Sherri. Grandchildren include Ryan, Kurtis, Matthew, Kenton, Austin, Abby, Logan, Shayla, and Shad. Great-grandchildren are Cale, Leise, London, Kairi, Kendyl, and Gracie.

He is also survived by a brother Norman, two sisters Mary Ann (William) Hassler, and Bette Jo (Werner) Blaser, sister-in-law Joan Guenther, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be September 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Rd. Chehalis with the Reverend William Hassler officiating. A luncheon will follow at 12:30 in the social hall at St. Francis Mission, 139 Spencer Rd. Toledo. Services are under the direction of Cattermolefuneralhome@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity, Richard always liked to support locally owned businesses and organizations that supported people in our community.
