Martin Huffman
Martin Huffman is the principal at Toledo High School. Justin Bark, a senior at Toledo High School, states, "Students respect him as much as he respects them. He's a great principal to have at our school, as well as a good friend."
Huffman recently submitted to an interview with the Crier:
Q: "How does it feel to be the principal at Toledo?"
A: "It feels busy. I like working with the students and staff."
Q: "Did you plan on becoming a principal?"
A: "I kind of planned being a principal. I was a teacher, and the staff asked me to be a principal."
Q: What are your duties?"
A: "Observing lessons, budgeting, supervising activities, organizing student events, thinking of new things to do, and overseeing the operation of the school."
Q: Do you recommend becoming a principal?"
A: "It's a pretty good choice of a career. It's not for everybody, but if you like to be busy and can multitask, it may be the job for you."
Q: "Any hobbies after school hours?"
A: "Working on the farm in a gorge with the camels, giraffes, and wallaroos on my friend John's farm."
Additionally, Huffman is known for bringing the talent showcase called the Coffee House to Toledo. Anyone can display their talents, from singing to playing an instrument to performing a funny skit. Huffman also cooks meals of all sorts, like pasta and garlic bread, for anyone to purchase at the Coffee House.
