Saturday August 6, during the Willapa Festival, a man suffered a medical emergency on the corner of 3rd and Duryea in Raymond. He was driving a minivan and pulling a small trailer. The vehicle was stopped in the middle of the road with the engine still running. Pedestrians walking by noticed the driver was in distress and attempted to open the vehicle's doors to offer assistance. The safety locks on the doors proved problematic but they were able to open them eventually and turned the vehicle off. Once first responders arrived, the man was rushed to Willapa Harbor Hospital.
