Led by 19 points from Kason Koski, Raymond hooked the Ilwaco Fishermen 45-42Thursday night at Seagull gym. The Seagulls mounted a 29-16 halftime lead and then held off a late rally by their guests.
"We had a pretty nice first half (and) came out strong and did what we wanted to on both sides of the floor," RHS head coach Derek Rask told the Herald. "They made a run on us in the third, but we made some plays in the fourth and were able to hold on. I thought we executed well toward the end of the game."
Coach Rask cited "Jayce Freeman (6 points) and Kason Koski (8 rebounds, 4 steals, 6 of at foul line) for their leadership in the fourth quarter."
Kendrick Collins had 9 points and 9 rebounds.
The Gulls (7-5) were 11 of 16 from the free throw line, while IHS made only 5 of 17 charity tosses.

Life Christian Academy walloped Raymond 72-32 Saturday at Seagulls Gym. The Eagles led 11-5 after one quarter, 39-13 at intermission, and 64-23 after three stops.
"Life Christian has a fine team," Coach Rask told the Herald. "They bring a lot of size, athleticism, length, and experience to the floor. We competed for the most part, but their size and length was just too much for us."
The Seagulls, 7-6, hosted Ocosta Tuesday night and Chief Leschi Friday night for Homecoming.
