Elmer and Lois (Ferguson) Lyvere.  Cathryn was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Lloyd Lyvere and three sisters: Bernice Wilkinson, Lucille McDowell and Wilma Lincoln, son-in-law Bud Dailey and granddaughter Ashley Nelson.

She married Henry J. McKnight in Seattle, Washington on June 8, 1943.  She is survived by their seven children: Alice McKnight of Toledo; Elaine (Gerald) Anagnostou of Sparks, NV; Glenda Dailey of Castle Rock; Marcia (Gary) Christensen of Woodland; Mark McKnight of Murrieta, CA;  Anita (John) De La Rosa and Lynn Rayon both of Vader; fourteen grandchildren: Joey McKnight, Elena Ceyanes, Brenda Esposito, Kara McKibben, Royce Anagnostou, Jerri Soden, William Dailey, Kenneth Dailey, Wesley Dailey, Chad Nelson, Tal De La Rosa, Ariell De La Rosa, Jacob McKnight, and Kyle Santo, former sons-in-law Larry Nelson and Rob Ramsey, seventeen great grandchildren: Sara, Allison, Alecea, Dominique, Rayvyn, Brooklyn, Allen-Michael, Zara, Meighan, Noah, Alexis, Zackery, Levi, JJ, Keegan, Dalilah, and Tegan.

August 1941 Cathryn moved to Seattle with her family where she attended school.

She worked as an elevator operator at Sears and later at the Historic Leopold Hotel in Bellingham, Washington.  As a Navy wife and mother she lived in Bellingham, Norfolk, VA, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Mountain View, CA. After her husband was discharged from the U.S. Navy, they bought a farm near Adna on Bunker Creek.  In 1958 the family moved to Vader where they operated a Jersey Dairy. They sold cream to the Centralia creamery and Standard Dairy Creamery in Longview.  In latter years they raised veal calves and Araland ponies.  Cathryn's horse training, animal husbandry and animal medical skills were well known and depended on in the area.

Cathryn served as President of Vader PTA. She was secretary and held other various offices of Cougar Flat Grange.  She loved roses and her hobbies included gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, grand-children's activities, and family gatherings.  No gathering was complete without her ambrosia fruit salad.

Cathryn was soft spoken, determined, shy and wore a welcoming smile.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church 618 D Street, Vader.
