The Winlock Historical Museum is looking for help putting together a display which would honor local veterans. Between now and Egg Days, the Winlock Historical Museum would like to compile a list of Winlock people who have served, as well as photos and artifacts to display.
Photos would be scanned and your originals returned to you. Artifacts would be there for one day and returned promptly. Every day under our flag is Veterans Day.
Please help the Winlock Historical Museum recognize your service. If you have anything you think would be of interest, please contact Tommy Thompson at 360-880-8668 or by mail at Winlock Historical Museum, P.O. Box 632 Winlock.
Adjacent is a photo of U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Richard Thompson who was with the Combat Engineers, Company B 10th Engineer Battalion. Rick (as most of us knew him as) served from November 1952 to October 1954 in the Korean War. Rick was a part of Winlock for many years after the war. He raised his family here, and his wife still resides in Winlock.
This is a great way for others to remember your service. Please consider helping the Winlock Historical Museum.
