Washington State will move to Phase 3 of the Coronavirus recovery plan, as announced by Governor Jay Inslee on March 11, 2021. The new phase will begin on March 22, 2021, for businesses and individuals.
One of the main changes is to sporting events. Spectators will be allowed to attend at 25% of capacity. This is a nice change as sports season is underway. Social distancing and masks are required. Additional sports allowed under Phase 3 are motorsports, rodeos, and other outside spectator events. High school sporting events attendance begins on March 18. Safety precautions must be adhered to during high school sports.
High contact sports can begin in Phase 3 of the Washington State Roadmap to Recovery plan. That means sports like basketball, wrestling and cheerleading can now resume as well.
The capacity for indoor also changes, you are now allowed to have 50% occupancy. This means restaurants, movie theaters, gyms, and other indoor activities are now open even more. The maximum in any location is 400 people. Restaurants will be able to offer drinks until midnight.
The Governor and his staff will re-evaluate Washington State in April to see if we can move to Phase 4.
