Toledo residents took time off work and school Friday to celebrate the Toledo High School boys basketball team, who returned from Yakima as State Champions March 2. Accompanied by members of the school band, some classic cars and a fire truck, the team was led on a parade through town before ending up back at the high school for a screening of video footage from their tournament. While their championship trophy will only stay at the school for the next year, volunteers are hoping to raise enough money for all 12 members of the team to receive commemorative rings. The Point Guard Club is selling t-shirts to raise funds for the rings, and those who wish to learn more,or simply to donate, can contact Larae Grove at (360) 864-8569.
