Makenna Williams
When disaster strikes and people are injured one of the most important things to have available is blood. Makenna Williams is trying to save people from behind the scenes. Williams is trying to acquire blood through a blood drive to save people. One reason Williams said was "I chose the blood drive as my senior project because it was a way to help people and save lives".
This blood drive is being held at the Raymond high school in room 184A on Feb. 16 form 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. When asked where the blood was going to go Williams said "The donated blood will be tested, processed, stored, and then shipped to hospitals." Williams does not have a set amount of blood that she would like to acquire but any amount will help. Williams said that "at this point, the amount of blood I'm hoping for is as much as I can get. It's amazing how far one donation of blood can go! "
Compared to the last blood drive, Williams is trying to get the word out earlier and expand the places where she is putting up flyers. Williams hopes that this will increase the number of people that will come and donate blood. For people that are interested in donating Williams would like people to make an appointment so that she knows just how many people will be showing up, but you are welcome to just show up even without an appointment. To make an appointment call (360) 942-2474 or wmakenna234@gmail.com. Williams said, "I'd like everyone to know how much I appreciate and admire those who donate blood when they have the chance." So if you are thinking about showing up but are on the fence about it your blood could be used to save a life in need.
