Raymond HS senior Tre' Seydel broke the 55-year-old all-time boys scoring record for the most points. Seydel set the record at home against archrival South Bend last Wednesday.
Seydel's feat moved him past Ken Hoffer into the top spot after scoring 26 points against SBHS, bringing his career total to 1,381 points. Hoffer's record of 1,363 points stood for 55 years.
Raymond HS Head Boys Basketball Coach Derek Rask told the Herald, "I would like to congratulate Tre' for reaching this major accomplishment. It's a testament to all of the hard work and training he has put into his game. He was able to accomplish this all while missing the majority of our season last year due to injury. After Saturday night's district game, Tre's career points total currently stands at 1,407, as he scored another 26 points."
Recently, Seydel became the 10th RHS player to enter the 1,000-point club for boys. Seydel was also honored as an WIAA Athlete of the Week for Week 19 in late January.
