Quilt Show this weekend

The Quilt Show is scheduled to run from July 31 to Aug. 1 with vendors offering fabrics and sewing machine repairs during Quilts on the Willapa.

Local people who like to sew will have an opportunity to purchase fabrics and get sewing machine maintenance during the Willapa Harbor Quilters' annual quilt show scheduled July 31 and Aug. 1 at Raymond High School, 825 Commercial St.

Besides displaying the handiwork of many quilters and sewers in the area, the "Quilts on the Willapa" show will feature three vendors.

Cathy's Classy Quilts of Rochester: Cathy Moore will have the HandiQuilter set up and be demonstrating it. She will also have fabric, books and quilting supplies for sale.

Quilt Harbor of Aberdeen: Besides bringing a wide assortment of fabrics, Susan and Ken Rauch offer sewing machine repairs during the quilt show. The opportunity to get sewing machine service in town has been a popular feature of the show the past couple of years.

Don Aman of Hillsboro, Ore., is a new vendor this year. He is closing out the inventory from a shop he and his wife previously owned. His products will be fabric and books at sale prices and a specialty tape measure they produce.

Quilts may be entered in the show by delivering them to the Raymond Baptist Church, 913 Duryea St., on Tuesday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Quilt show hours are July 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Willapa Harbor Quilters is a group of about 30 individuals who meet weekly, with some exceptions, throughout the year. Weekly sessions are Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., at the Raymond Baptist Church. There is no charge to see the quilt show, but donations are appreciated to help offset the cost of hiring local teens who help set up and take down displays for the show.
