Rusty Scupper's Pirate Daze 2021 is a go for this year during the last full weekend in June. This event put on by the Half Moon Bay Pirates starts on Friday, June 25, and lasts until Sunday, June 27. The street fronting the Westport marine will be full of pirates, entertainers, shops, games, food vendors and displays mostly of the pirate variety.
Eyepatches, hooks, swords, and other pirate-themed loot will be available throughout the festival to spend your doubloons on.
Live entertainment will include:
- Tempest - An international band of swashbuckling Celtic-rock pirates.
- Twisted Knickers - Put a twist in your knickers with songs that range from family-friendly to late-night naughty.
- Starboard Watch - There are pirates of the croonin' persuasion strumming' and singin' salty old nautical songs.
- Chaste Treasure - A trio of upper-class ladies bring a unique, tight sound to sassy songs and modern parodies alike.
- S&S Entertainment - Two beautiful women perform dances to stop the hearts of even the most grizzled pirate.
- Parades and kid activities are happening each day during the event. Keep an eye out for Dr. Owl's Medicine Show which offers twisted balloons, magic tricks, and silly jokes.
Somewhere among the fishing vessels and boats, look for a pirate yacht that will welcome young ones to join the crew and become mates for a while.
Tucked away in an open lot, look for The Dread Ship Outrageous Fortune display. This lets you step into the world of pirates in the classic age of piracy. Take a peek at real pirate gear.
So dress up in your pirate gear and join the fun in Westport this weekend. Don't forget your mask and stay safe.
