Trish Williams of Timberland Bank and Evie Leef of Allstate insurance set up the new school supply program.
It's that time of year, it's back to school time for many students in our area. With back to school comes the expense of school supplies for many families, yet many families in our area cannot afford all the supplies needed. With this in mind, two businesses in Winlock have started "2019 Winlock Schools Supply Drive."
Evie Leef with Allstate Insurance in Winlock called Trish Williams at Timberland Bank one day to discuss developing a supply drive. Evie stated that Trish said, "I was just getting ready to call the school." It was obvious that two great minds think alike.
"Our community is in need and we want to help the kids get off to a great start," said Evie. "I have witnessed with my kids in school that a lot of the kids did not have enough supplies. We want to make sure to get as much as possible for school supplies for the entire year."
Trish Williams from Timberland Bank stated, "We've done it in the past, we felt we needed to bring it back for a lot of kids in the area. We also accept boxtops, you can drop them off at the Bank or Allstate Insurance." Boxtops have provided equipment and such at the school; don't toss them out; take them to these businesses.
Many items are needed, click it pens, washable markers, paper notebooks, backpacks, highlighters, #2 pencils, pencil pouches, 3 ring binders, shoes for PE, spiral notebook (college rule) kleenex, post-it notes, glue sticks, pencil erasers, crayons, colored pencils, and primary notebooks. Cash donations can also be accepted at either Timberland Bank or Allstate Insurance.
