With 23 seconds left of the first half, Tiger junior runningback Mac Fagerness scores crossing the goal line on a 17 yard pass from junior quarterback Wyatt Stanley. The Napavine Tigers were on a mission this past Saturday and this effort was to spoil the Liberty Lancers trip home back to Spangle Washington. Appearing for the State 2B quarterfinals at Centralia's Tiger Stadium, the Napavine Tigers enjoyed fun in the sun where temperatures were in the mid 40's with little to no wind-or a perfect day for a high school playoff football game. The Tigers lead 14-0 at halftime and when the time ran out off the clock, the final score was 34-7. Napavine lead the game in rushing yards 148-102 and leading rusher for the Tigers was junior quarterback Wyatt Stanley with 8 carries for 49 yards. The Tigers also lead the Lancers in passing yards 207-107 with the leading Tiger receiver was junior Mac Fagerness with 6 catches for 84 yards and Tiger softmore Noah Lantz caught four passes for 50 yards. With this win the Tigers (10-2) advance to the semi-finals in the Tacoma Dome this coming Saturday at 1pm against the top ranked, undefeated Pe Ell-Willapa Valley Titans(11-0). The two teams played each other very early in the season and this happened to be a back and forth scoring game. When the final seconds of the clock expired, the Titans were on top 28-27.
