Denise Rowlett
On September 5, 2019, the Teen Advocacy Coalition officially hired Denise Rowlett as TAC Coordinator. In the last two decades, she has spent 19 ½ years working with the Pacific County Sheriff's Office performing administrative tasks including organizing files and managing grants.
"I've been a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for the better part of 18 years," said Rowlett. Part of that was working for the Pacific County Chapter of the Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Serving on a variety of boards and committees, Rowlett gained experience in managing volunteers and coordinating events. Her past experience makes her a highly qualified choice for TAC Coordinator.
"I make sure that the action plan item tasks are being met throughout the year as part of our grant deliverables," she commented on some of her TAC job duties. "I watch the budget but also making sure we are meeting our grant match requirements. We are currently in year seven of a ten-year grant. Our match for this current year just got bumped up to 125%. Our grant award is $125,000 and we have to match locally with $156,250. I am making sure all of that gets tracked and documented appropriately. I make sure all the T's are crossed and all the I's are dotted."
She also coordinates the board and general meetings, which take place every second Monday of the month.
Rowlett is also tasked with representing TAC around North Pacific County at different community meetings. You will see her at meetings for Alliance for a Better Community, Road 2 Resiliency, Pacific County Guns and Hoses where she serves as treasurer, Willapa Harbor Health Foundation, Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce, and many more.
"I make sure we are represented everywhere and help with coordinating our resources together to bring the best to the community," Rowlett said. If you have any questions about TAC or would like to volunteer to call Rowlett at 360-934-4887 ext. 32104 or email her at pacificcountytac@gmail.com.
