Roof damage over Big Nick's Pizza required the removal of the drop ceiling.
At the beginning of the year Big Nick's Pizza closed for repairs and remodeling. The expected closure was supposed to last a couple of months, but the repairs had uncovered more issues that need to be addressed before Big Nick's can be reopened.
"We are still closed down due to the construction, they are going to remove the roof from the Mexican restaurant all the way to Thriftway's main entrance," said Big Nick's Pizza Owner Nick Delin. "The main roof to the store will be replaced, the drop ceiling is gone and they will be replacing it after the main roof is completed. The contractors are way behind and it will be at least 1-2 more months for the construction to be completed. They are replacing the main heating system, so there's a lot of work going on."
"We are painting and remodeling the store when the contractors are finished," Nick continued. Currently everything has been removed from the restaurant to allow the repair work to happen.
"We are not closing down," Nick said. "We are just waiting for the work to be completed so we can reopen. When we reopen it will be freshly updated with a new layout and look on the inside. We are stuck in the middle of this and we are trying to hold on to our staff while we wait for the repairs to be completed. So hopefully we will be open at the end of April to the beginning of May."
