Wow! What a Wonderful Weekend!

What an honor for me, my family, and our business. It was just awesome to be chauffeured through the streets of South Bend by my high school classmate, Debbie Moore Bostwick (SBHS Class of 1972) whilst riding in the back of her shiny convertible... Awesome! And for me to feel the outpouring of love from both sides of Highway 101 as we purred through the town which holds my heart.... I just could not ask for more....

To Lisa Olsen, Mayor Julie Struck, Joyce Kidd, and the many, many volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the year on behalf of the Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce's Labor Day Committee: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

The entire weekend was a fabulous success, and it is through the kind & generous efforts of you folks that this celebration can happen year after year. For those of you who may not know, this is a TON of work, and the preparation begins not long after this celebration ends. I sincerely appreciate this honor, and the trophy you gave me (with the cool musical note on top) is proudly resting on the front desk of our office. Feel free to stop by and give it a look.... it's pretty sweet!

There were so many activities this year: The fireworks were outstanding, the music was wonderful (extra thanks to the Chester Tavern for their music and to the 101 Public House.... you could hear so many talented performers playing so many different styles of music... way cool!)

The Beer Garden (which did not have 'just beer'.... wink wink....) just outside of the 101 Public House was perfect (an extra "Thank You!" to Kaley Hanson and his crew for helping out with this). A group of us sat there Sunday night, had great food from the 101, listened to Jessie Falls, Lew Chapman, Rolf Olsen, and Jessie's harp player, Jeff.... what a treat! I could go on & on, but the music always stays at the forefront with me.... go figger, eh? Well done, all of you.

I promise to faithfully carry the GM Torch through Labor Day next year, and we at The Davis Agency shall endeavor to continue serving our wonderful community well throughout the coming years. After all, now that we are 61 years in, Helen, Chauncey, Jim & Marion wouldn't let me have it any other way.... now would they?

Once Again, thank you all for recognizing me with this wonderful honor.

Gratefully Yours,

PHIL DAVIS

South Bend
