Well, now that all the chaos surround Egg Day is over and done with, this upcoming week promises to be very slow. I plan on enjoying the short respite by installing a new fence and cleaning up my yard a bit. Yes, I live life on the wild side.
In fact, with Independence Day coming up, even less will be going on than ever. The Farmer’s Market has been cancelled for Wednesday and will resume its regular schedule of Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following week. Please contact Jeanie at (360) 785-4817 for more details.
Both the Olequa Senior Center and the Winlock Timberland Library will be closed on Thursday in honor of Independence Day.
Local kids are invited to the Winlock Timberland Library on Wednesday, July 10, for Dig it Up Scavenger Hunt. This particular event’s theme will be underground animals. Children will be given the opportunity to search the library, find three hidden pictures, and win a small prize. This Summer Reading event is part of a Timberland Regional Library district-wide program. For more information on these or future events, please contact the library at (360) 785-3461.
Which pretty much sums up all that I’ve got for this week. So, have a great break, everybody! May you enjoy delicious, fattening food with friends and family, watch fireworks from a safe distance, stay cool now that the weather has turned suddenly warm, and remember that, despite having a Congress that likes to argue rather than accomplish anything, our country is pretty special.
