The club recently put on a Santa’s Workshop for the Willapa Elementary School. They gathered small gifts throughout the year for people of all ages and as the day approached they set up their workshop, wrapping paper and all. As the youngsters came through the doors their eyes filled with excitement when they saw the room was adorn with ribbons and gifts.
Although some saw presents they just had to have, the NHS elves taught the students that Christmas was about giving. Presents were bought for grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, friends and even cats and dogs.
While this was a fundraiser for NHS, the members found more joy in seeing the happiness from the kids as they handed in their 25 cents for the gifts they couldn’t wait to give. The Willapa Valley National Honor Society will sure be on Santa’s good list this year as will all the children that decided to give this year instead of get.
