Vader celebrating 62nd May Day festival this Saturday

Vader’s historic City Jail will be among the attractions available during May Day, with tours and photos facilitated by the Vader Citizen’s League.

Schedule of events:

7 to 10 a.m. – Donuts and coffee at the Lions Hall.

7 to 10 a.m. – Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge.

9:30 a.m. – Parade line up along D St.

11 a.m. – Parade begins and travels down DR. 506, then A St.

Directly after Parade – Dancers with Noe No Ka Mauna Hula dance group, of Longview, will perform, followed by the annual cakewalk. Rummage sales will be taking place at the Vader Assembly of God and the Lions Hall, while food and carnival games will be available in the field by the post office, provided by the Little Crane Café. The Historic City Jail will also be open for tours and photos, courtesy of the Vader Citizen’s League.

Throughout the day – Vendors will be set up around town. The Park Board will also be selling hanging baskets for $25 as a fundraiser for their ongoing activities.
