To the Editor:
Diana Thompson, chairperson for the PUD continues her refusal to release requested information for the totally unnecessary Tokeland extension. Service is already provided this area by the Grays Harbor PUD to the satisfaction of rate payers in that area and by the provider.
When asked critical questions of PUD manager Doug Miller, he stated Pacific County PUD has no capitol improvement plan, no cost estimates for proposed projects, and no schedules for construction.
By any reasonable criteria Miller a licensed engineer has displayed incompetent and unprofessional conduct with his response. Diana Thompson as chairperson is violating all standards of transparency necessary for public confidence in a public agency.
For the past year logical questions about these projects that obligate rate-payers for millions of dollars have been asked of Thompson, Hatfield, and Miller. They refuse to answer. What are they hiding from the public?
The next question is whether Thompson, Hatfield, and Miller will secretly receive personal financial benefit from construction of these projects? Are they involved with agreements or unethical manipulations with unknown others?
This is the next question the public should seek answers.
