Consumers in Friday Harbor, North Bend, Pacific County, Seattle and Tonasket will see their sales tax rate increase on purchases starting Wednesday, April 1.
The sales tax rate in Pacific County and the cities of Ilwaco, Long Beach, Raymond and South Bend, will increase by one-tenth of one percent to a tax rate of 7.9 percent. That tax increase will be used to pay for chemical dependency and mental health services.
The sales tax rate in the city of Seattle will rise by one-tenth of one percent to help pay for transportation services in a new transportation benefit district. Consumers in the city will now pay a 9.6 percent sales tax.
