Hey there! It's June already and almost July. That means almost half of the year is over. Several of the major projects for the Willapa Harbor Lions come up during the last half of the year.

The circus, which comes every other year, will be over by the time you read this. The Willapa Harbor Lions thank all the businesses that supported this project by buying tickets and all those that attended. It was a remarkable show to be able to get them to make a stop in Raymond/South Bend.

At the end of August you will see us at our food booth at the Pacific County Fair. We will again be serving the Willapa Harbor Lions World famous French Fries, along with corn dogs and hot dogs and Pepsi products. In September we start selling the Rain Derby Tickets where you could win $5,000.

One of our oldest projects is going on right now. Over the years you have been contacted by Lions to purchase calendars. This will be our 49^th year selling the Community Birthday Calendar. The problem is that over the years several of our best calendar sales Lions have passed on. So, if you are not contacted, you can call any Lion or mail a request to Willapa Harbor Lions, PO Box 333. Be sure to tell us how many calendars you want and if you have any additions, deletions or changes to the birthday/anniversary listings. Our calendars have always started in September, nobody seems to know why or remember why, except that perhaps it was tied to the school year. This year, our 49^th annual calendar, (that's a long time) will start in September 2015 and have four extra months through December 2016. Then in our 50^th calendar year we will start 2017 calendar in January. So this year's calendar will have four extra months and four extra coupons on the back of every month's page for the same price of same $7.

The Lions thank you for placing your Community Birthday Calendar and supporting all of our projects throughout the year, so that we will have the money to contribute back the Community.
