The annual Southwest Washington Fair is set to begin on Tuesday, August 16 with gates opening at 10 am. The carnival will begin at 11 am. Gates will be open from 10 am every day of the fair, which is Tuesday through Sunday. The carnival will open every day at 11 am and will close each night when the fair closes. On Sunday, the fair will close early at 7 pm for tear down.
Every year, thousands of people from Washington and other states come to Lewis County to be a part of the annual Southwest Washington Fair. The fair has great family activities and traditions which will be continued. The Demolition Derby will be Tuesday at 7 pm to help kickoff a fun filled week in Chehalis. The Demolition Derby will also take place Sunday at 12 pm. Grandstand seats are $12 and the box seats are $15.
For the carnival, you can order your bracelets online prior to fair week for $23, compared to $28 at the fair itself.
The 4th annual Bulls and Barrels Rodeo hosted by the Southwest Washington Rodeo Association will be Saturday, August 20th. Tickets are $15 for grandstand seating, and $20 for arena seats.
Headlining this year's concert and entertainment tour is Blake Lewis. Lewis is a Washington native who was a runner-up on American Idol during its 6th season.
The concert tour will also include British Export, one of the world's most famous Beatles' cover bands. Heart to Heart, a Heart cover band, will also be performing.
The cheerleaders of the Seattle Seahawks, the Sea Gals, will be in to perform for Seahawks fans. To find times for the concerts and other entertainment, you can go online to the Southwest Washington Fair website.
Local FFA and 4-H chapters always have their animals to show. Judging of animals will take place throughout the fair. Our local teens work hard to raise these animals throughout the years, and they never disappoint in size.
