Sunday Afternoon Live will open Season 11 early to accommodate school schedules for members of Everything Fitz, a lively, high-steppin’ dance and fiddlin’ Fitzgerald Family troupe from Canada who last captivated local audience members in 2008.

This energetic show, sponsored by Adella and Val Hougan, and Janet and Don Furfiord, and Thrivent for Lutherans, is full of a variety of musical styles and the precision step dance routines of this well-known family. Their performance presents an entertaining blend of haunting Celtic airs, bluegrass, western swing, traditional jigs and reels, gospel medleys, even favorite standards. In a very short time, Everything Fitz built an amazing reputation in the fiddle and step-dancing world.

Julie, Kerry and Tom are no longer teenagers, but the siblings are all champion fiddlers and “shake, rattle and roll“ with their fiery three-part harmonies and solo improvisations. While older brother Pat has left to pursue his future in solo work, two new and very talented musicians have joined the group: Nate Douglas is a classical guitarist who hails from Ontario and James Law is a champion Scottish fiddler from British Columbia.  Mom Pam still plays piano.

With their roots in the old-time fiddle tradition, the three siblings are winners of countless awards across the U.S. and Canada.

Everything Fitz will perform at 2 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the historic Raymond Theatre. Presale tickets are $12 at South Bend Pharmacy and Sagen’s Pharmacy in Raymond and at the theatre. Day of performance tickets will be available at the theatre box office for $15.

Tickets may also be purchased by sending check or money order with SASE to SAL, P.O. Box 41, South Bend, WA 98586, calling 875-5831, or emailing sundayafternoonlive@comcast.net.

With the 2013-2014 season set to go, season tickets will be offered at this concert or by calling 875-5831. The new season will feature seven sparkling performances.  Pick up a new season brochure at the box office.
