Holiday cheer is everywhere you look these days. Thanks to all the homeowners and volunteers who work so hard to make our little Town look so festive at this time of year. It’s a good thing that most of the outside work got done before the Deep Freeze arrived this week!
I’ve overheard more than one person mention that they don’t have gloves or socks that are warm enough. It reminded me that I discovered silk liners years ago, so I have some on order. Looks like they’ll arrive just in time.
This Saturday that great bunch at Ryderwood’s VFW Post 7010 puts on the monthly Town Breakfast. It’s a great place to get one of the best meals you’ll have all day – maybe, even all week. That’s 8-10 a.m. in Community Hall. Also on the weekend calendar is the first Ice Cream Social and Card Bingo of the month – Sunday at 6 p.m. in Community Hall.
The Women’s Club will have a special music program at this month’s meeting on Wednesday the 4th at noon in Pioneer Hall. Norm will be there to entertain the group during their holiday salad luncheon.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, the Ladies group from the Church (RWCS) will attend the special Christmas Program at Toledo Presbyterian Church. The group will leave from the Church Annex after a short meeting and gift exchange at 11:30 a.m.
While it may seem like much isn’t happening this week, that is not true for those planning for next week’s Christmas Party, Red Hats Lunch and Cheer Bag preparation and delivery. Activities will continue nearly non-stop until Christmas Day. Busy, busy, busy.
Ever notice how all this activity coincides with the shortest days of the year? All the shopping, parties, meals, etc. are our reward, right? Have a great week!
