The first week of a new month means the nearly world famous Ryderwood Town Breakfast is coming up on Saturday. For a very fair price, you can get the finest choices of breakfast fare available anywhere. There are pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs any style, ham OR sausage, orange juice and bottomless coffee. Serving times are from 8 to 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, Friday night's dinner at the Café will feature Nancy's Chicken Enchiladas. As usual, a Beverage, Salad and Dessert are always included for $9. Reservations are required and need to be made by 6 p.m. Wednesday - Call Linda at (360) 295-0875.
Here's a reminder to turn your clocks forward this Sunday as Daylight Saving Time begins. I'm not sad to see it come, because I prefer the longer days. It wouldn't bother me a bit if we kept DST year 'round. It's also a good time to replace smoke detector batteries and "pat the bottom" of any fire extinguishers you may have. (They're filled with a powder that tends to cake in the bottoms of the extinguishers.)
Monday has burgers at the Café from 4 to 6 p.m. The burgers - beef, chicken or veggie - are cooked to perfection and served with all the trimmings, including grilled onions if desired. Word is they'll be serving pizza in addition to the burgers and no soup that night. Come out and enjoy! That will be Karaoke night also, so come for supper and stay for the music.
Tuesday's Senior Nutrition meal will be Teriyaki Pork with Brown Rice and Stir-Fry Veggies. For a $3 donation, the meals are a real bargain for those over 60 years of age. Call me at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 to make or break reservations. Contact CAP in Longview at (360) 425-3430, ext. 259 for home-delivered frozen Meals On Wheels and Commodities.
It's time to start planning for Ryderwood's Spring Arts & Crafts Fair and Quilt Display coming up the third weekend of May. That will be May 15 and 16. Applications will be available shortly.
Have a great week!
