It's been pretty wet in our mini-rainforest this week and winds got pretty brisk the other night, but there were a couple of really nice days thrown in for good measure. And I overheard someone the other day saying they noticed the days are getting longer. Not exactly longer days, just longer daylight hours.
The Red Hat ladies have an Outing planned for Thursday afternoon. They will get all decked out in their red and purple and leave from the Café at 11:30 a.m. for an afternoon of fun, food and fellowship. Call Michele for details.
"Open Mic" is on the schedule for this Saturday evening - that's at 7 p.m. in the Café. Starting next month, "Game Night" will replace this event on the fourth Saturday of the month. Similar to what was done on New Year's Eve, there will be potluck "finger foods" at 6 p.m. and a variety of game stations set up at the tables.
Friday night's dinner at the Café will feature Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. Beverage, Salad, Side Dishes and Dessert are always included for $9. Reservations are required and need to be made by 6 p.m. Wednesday - Call Linda at (360) 295-0875.
While we're on the subject of food, Tuesday's Senior Nutrition menu calls for Chicken Cacciatore, Mashed Potatoes and Glazed Carrots. These meals, provided and prepared by C.A.P. (Community Action Program) out of Longview, are available for $3 to Seniors over the age of 60 and their guests. Call me by 6 p.m. Monday at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 to make or break reservations.
Something to put on your calendars is the upcoming Castle Rock Concert to be held in Ryderwood's Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 3. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature their Chorus and Concert and Jazz Bands. The Social Club will provide refreshments for the students and guests following the concert. (There is also a Coffee Stop happening that week, so perhaps the cookie makers could make a few extra for this event.)
Until next week...
