The Raymond Fire Department along with Fire District 3 and the Department of Natural Resources responded to a property just off of the highway near Menlo that caught fire on Sunday, August 9. The Raymond Fire Department had thirteen firefighters on the scene, with three fire engines and one water tender to fight the fire that ended up burning just over one acre. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but the resident of the property was known to be using a hand mower to cut the dry grass.
