We each need to make our own cost-benefit analysis to be clear on the pros and cons. Many well-intentioned people have opinions on the subject, be we each need to do our own research to discover the cold, hard facts most relevant to the debate. It isn't hard and it doesn't even take a very long to do on the Internet.
Google "medical marijuana oil" to discover the research that's been done on epilepsy, autism, pain and nausea alleviation in cancer treatments and chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, MS, fibromyalgia, Lupus, etc. using it. Do the benefits outweigh the possible risks? What exactly are the substantiated risks involved?
Inquire how it has been proposed to keep this prescription drug off the streets. What will be the safeguards?
Let's elevate the debate using clear scientific evidence; there's plenty out there now. Everyone has opinions, but opinions are just ideas, and not necessarily based on hard, cold factual evidence.
Let's be smart about this. It's a big decision for our little community. Let's not let our emotions or assumptions get in our way.
And as Gran'ma used to say, "Let's not get all het up about it."
