Lent Soup Supper Schedule

The Willapa Harbor Ministerial Association is sponsoring a series of midweek soup suppers and prayer services at several local churches during the season of Lent. The soup supper starts at 6 p.m. and is followed by a brief prayer service. This year's theme is "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and will reflect on the lyrics of this beloved hymn.

Lent is a time of preparation for Easter that is observed by some traditions. These soup suppers and services are open to the public and are free; a free will offering is received that will benefit a cause in our community.  

The schedule for the five soup suppers includes: Feb. 20, hosted by Saint John Episcopal Church at First Lutheran on the corner of E. Water and S. Adams streets in South Bend; Feb. 27, hosted by Willapa United Methodist Church on Willapa 1st St.; March 6, at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church on Blake Street in Raymond; March 13, at First Lutheran Church in South Bend; and March 19, at Raymond United Methodist Church on Duryea Street. For more information, phone 875-5700.
