“For the girls, Hannah Dykes picked up a win in the triple jump with a season-best jump of 33-2,” Raymond head coach Mike Tully told the Herald. “She also had a pair of second-place finishes. Courtney Hagain continued to run well in winning the 3200.”
South Bend’s Emily Sanchez won by an eyelash over Hannah Dykes of Raymond in the 100 meters – :13.10-to-:13.20. South Bend’s Kaelani Collins was third at :13.50.
Sanchez was a double winner by jumping farther than everybody else in the long jump at 15 feet, 4 inches, Dykes was second at 14 feet, 7½ inches and South Bend’s Tammi Kousonhsavath placed third at 14-2.
Dykes was first in the triple jump at 33-2, followed by Kousonhsavath at 32-6, South Bend’s Makenzie Russell at 31-6, South Bend’s Alison Funkhouser (30-1) and Valley’s Brooke Spoor (29-6).
South Bend’s Kathryn Staats claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet, 3 inches. Raymond’s Aiysha Garcia was second (30-10) and Myranda Curtis of SB was third (30 ft). Taking fourth place was Valley’s Sara Chapman at 29 feet.
Garcia grabbed first place in the 400 with a time of 1:13.70 to beat Valley’s Morgan Walker at 1:14.80.
In the 200 meters, Aubrey Boyes of RHS won at :30.40, followed by Morgan Patterson of South Bend (:30.90).
Katrina Ege of WV blew away the competition in the discus with a toss of 97 feet, 6 inches. Teammate Katie Rockett was a distant second at 82-7.
Curtis came in first in the javelin with a throw of 88 feet, 9 inches; Abby Maneman of RHS was second (83-4), followed by Staats (81-9) and Rockett (79-10).
The 100-meter high hurdles winner was Lauren Friese of Valley at :17.50, followed by South Bend’s Emily Burbank at :17.90.
Valley’s Jessica Cook won the 1600 meters with a time of 6:30.10, which was more than five seconds better than Hagain.
Hagain easily won the 3200 meters with a time of 14:04.
None of the three relay races were close. South Bend won by nearly two seconds over Willapa Valley in the 400 with runners Funkhouser, Kaelani Collins, Morgan Patterson and Sanchez. The Lady Indians had a winning time of :55.90. The Lady Indians won by four seconds over Raymond in the 800-relay with a time of 1:55.60. Runners for the Tribe included Patterson, Funkhouser, Collins and Sanchez. Raymond won the 1600 relay by more than 45 seconds over South Bend. Running for the Lady Seagulls were Hagain, Kira Dunsmoor, Garcia and Boyes. Raymond’s time was 5:09.70.
Only two runners ran the 800 and Diana Morales of SBHS was first (3:09.90) by 40 seconds.
There were only two runners in the 300-meter low hurdles and Friese won with ease with a clocking of :57.20.
Only two girls competed in the high jump and Maneman won with a height of 4 feet, 6 inches. Boyes jumped over 4-2 to finish second.
Five girls competed in the pole vault, which was conducted at Willapa Valley HS. Michaela Huber won at 9 feet and Lauren Friese was second.

Raymond hosts a meet Thursday with South Bend, Northwest Christian, Naselle, Wishkah Valley and North River. Willapa Valley heads to North Beach, also Thursday.
