Raymond fell twice in volleyball matches last week, losing to South Bend in three sets and versus Naselle in five.
South Bend defeated the Lady Seagulls 25-17, 25-14, 25-17 last Tuesday (Oct. 22) at Raymond. Aiysha Garcia paced RHS with 5 blocks and 3 kills.
“We had issues with passing and serve receive,” Raymond head coach Bob Swogger told the Herald. “Our energy level dropped off a little when we faced adversity. We need to learn how to work through the rough spots. Overall, the team as a whole has maintained an attitude that allows us to be competitive and we're improving.”
Naselle 3, Lady Gulls 2
Host Naselle thwarted Raymond’s comeback attempt at a win last Thursday night. The Comettes on 25-17, 25-15, 19-25, 17-25, 15-8. Hannah Dykes recorded 11 kills and 5 blocks for Raymond.
“We are just very inconsistent with our ability to attack,” Swogger said. “Sometimes it's passing, others setting, or just hitting errors. We still need to learn to put it all together on a consistent basis. Our standout is Hannah Dykes. She does a great job for us in the front row.”
Raymond’s regular season ended last night at home against Pacific League champion Northwest Christian.
