In 1989, a program called the Kids Kloset was begun in order to help kids in poverty be able to have new school clothing. School supplies like notebooks, pencils, and paper are also handed out. Saturday, the program will have its annual distribution day.
The distribution will be made at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Centralia at 1209 N Scheuber Road. The distribution will begin at 9 AM and go until 3 PM. The group plans to serve anywhere between 700-900 students.
Children must be present with an adult in order to receive their clothes and supplies. The group does not require a screening for financial information.
Clothes are available kindergarten up through high school students. Families can reserve a time slot on Friday from 5 PM-5:30 PM at Fort Borst Park's Shelter 1.
