Kelly busted on four drug charges

SOUTH BEND - Debbie Lynn Kelly, 55, was arrested and booked into Pacific County Jail last Thursday by the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office on four “probable cause” drug charges.
According to the county jail report, Kelly was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription (a felony), use of a building for drug purposes and violation of the Controlled Substance Act. Formal charges will go down in Superior Court this week.
Pacific County Deputy Prosecutor Mark McClain said, “I requested $500,000 in bail as a result of her violations while under an earlier court order in a matter for which she was later found not guilty. The court imposed $200,000. She remains in custody. I do not know whether she had been reinstated or returned to work prior to being charged. She did not commit any crime utilizing county property or, as far as I can tell, during any working hours.”
The charge for use of a building for drug purposes (RCW 69.53.010) reads: It is unlawful for any person who has under his or her management or control any building, room, space, or enclosure, either as an owner, lessee, agent, employee, or mortgagee, to knowingly rent, lease, or make available for use, with or without compensation, the building, room, space, or enclosure for the purpose of unlawfully manufacturing, delivering, selling, storing, or giving away any controlled substance under chapter 69.50 RCW, legend drug under chapter 69.41 RCW, or imitation controlled substance under chapter 69.52 RCW. “Here, officers assert that Ms. Kelly allowed another to sell methamphetamine from her home,” Mark McClain said.
Kelly is employed with the Department of Public Works.
Shores Pleads Guilty
In court proceedings last Friday, Janelle Shores, 27, Raymond, pleaded guilty to seven counts of possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to a year in prison.
