On Wednesday August 10 around 2:55 pm the Washington State Patrol responded to an accident 1/2 mile north of Ocean Shores. The WSP report states that drugs or alcohol was involved in the collision.
Lloyd Wesley Osborne, a 38 year old Puyallup man was driving a black 2006 Ford 4-door Taurus traveling southbound on State Route 109 at Hogan's Corner.
Henry Kurt Deutsch, a 68 year old Ocean Shores man was driving a white 2000 Ford Mustang. Deutsch turned left onto northbound SR109 from a gas station at Hogan's Corner.
The WSP report states that Osborne, with a delayed reaction, braked to avoid a collision with vehicle two, crossed the center line and struck the Mustang head on.
Osborne was not injured, but there was reportable damage to the Taurus which was impounded by No Nos Towing.
Deutsch was not reported as injured, but the Mustang has reportable damage and was impounded by Aberdeen Auto.
Alan James Cooper Jr., a 29 year old Federal Way man and passenger in the Mustang, was injured. Shannon L. Lentz, a 47 year old Federal Way woman, was also a passenger in the Mustang and injured as well. Both were transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
Northbound SR109 was blocked for one hour as a result of the collision.
Osborne is sited as the cause of the accident in the report and still under investigation.
