A meeting to discuss the direction and future of Willapa Harbor Helping Hands (WHHH) will be held on Monday, July 6, at 5:30 pm at the PUD in downtown Raymond.
There are several volunteers who will "help" with fundraisers, but the group is in need of individuals who are willing to take on leadership roles and act as chairmen for fundraisers.
Funds available for patient assistance are extremely low and WHHH leaders are unable to properly assist our local cancer patients.
Willapa Harbor Helping Hands is a unique non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded solely by fundraisers and donations and serving cancer patients living in North Pacific County. At this time, available funds are extremely low and WHHH is limiting assistance to fuel cards for patients traveling to and from treatment.
Helping Hands has been operating since October 2004. Vice-President Melody Halpin is one of the WHHH founders and has held an office since the beginning of the group. President Barb Bolden has served in that capacity in all but the first year of operation.
Barb and Melody agree that WHHH is a very important asset to our community and it would be unfortunate to lose this service. They hope that community members agree and step up to the plate to help breathe some life into the organization.
Please plan to attend the meeting. If you have questions, call Melody at 208-3044.
