He was born October 26, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Verne Roy and Pauline Ruth Garey Weller.
He moved to South Bend in 1969, when his wife got a teaching position here. He worked at Arne’s Arco as a mechanic for 35 years until the business had to close. He later worked as a security guard for Hampton Hardwood for several years. He enjoyed working on vehicles, traveling, fishing and nature.
He is survived by Sandra, his wife of 44 years, and five children: David (Glenda) Weller of Chehalis, Jim (Erika) Weller of Port Ludlow, Nancy Weller, of Federal Way, Paul (Rachel) Weller of Hoquiam, and Kathryn (Levi) Sheryl of Raymond; a brother, Carl (Sharon) Weller of Grand Rapids, Mich. 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ruth, and a son, Mike, preceded him.
A memorial service will be held on October 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 245 Jackson St., Raymond.
