Former Commissioner Supports Goelz for Judge

He was always prepared and polite in our dealings. He understood the challenges faced by the County Commissioners with limited funds.

Over the years he worked cooperatively with the commissioners to computerize the court, provide a public law library, develop and build a new court facility with video conferencing (allowing the inmates of the county jail to be present without being transported from South Bend), maintained public defense standards and instituted an effective telephonic search warrant program and always within budget.

Whenever public safety required the expenditure of extra money Judge Goelz came to us and asked for assistance. At Doug's request, over the years, we funded the seizure of cars from repeat drunk drivers, authorized SCRAM Bracelets for those too ill to serve jail time and provided additional bailiff support to keep victims of domestic violence safe at all court hearings..

He has always looked for more efficient ways to run his court while at the same time assuring the citizens of Pacific County are treated fairly and appropriately in his court.

I urge you to vote for Doug Goelz as South District Court Judge.

Thank you,

Norman B Cuffel
