Members of the Joint Narcotics Task Force (JNET) arrested a female and seized multiple firearms, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and improvised explosive devices from a residence in the Tacoma area on Tuesday, October 20th, at approximately 1330 hours.
The arrest and seizure stemmed from a tip given to JNET by a Lewis County resident. The information provided was that guns were being stolen and stored at the house in Pierce County, but some of the guns were being transported back into Lewis County.
Detectives bought a stolen handgun from the residence in an undercover operation, resulting in a search warrant being obtained. The warrant was served at the residence, located in the 2400 block of 155th Street Court East in Tacoma.
Thirty eight (38) firearms, four (4) improvised explosive devices (mortars and tank simulators), thousands of rounds of assorted ammunition, methamphetamine, and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized.
Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) technicians, consisting of members of the ATF, FBI, Pierce County Sheriff's Department (PCSD), and Washington State Patrol (WSP) took possession of the IEDs. They were taken off site to be detonated.
Rebecca J. Coleman, 53, of Tacoma was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for Possession of Stolen Property 1st and Possession of Methamphetamine. Other charges are pending.
Sheriff Robert Snaza said, "JNET's work is an integral piece to keeping our community safe. Criminals don't have physical boundaries, they travel in and out of our county. Even though the arrest and seizure occurred in Pierce County, we stopped the flow of criminal activity from coming into our county. By having a unified team working drug investigations, we expand our assets, while collaborating with other agencies who have the same mission of getting criminals off the streets."
