will be hosting a drug take back initiative. The initiative will take place at Everybody’s Store located at 701 Willapa Place in Raymond, Washington between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Controlled or non-controlled, prescription and over the counter medications may be turned in. This program is anonymous and all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of anyone wishing to dispose of medications. No questions or requests for identification will be made.
People may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box. If an original container is submitted, we encourage the individual to remove any identifying information from the prescription label by either removing the label or using a permanent marker to cover it up. We will not be counting, inventorying or logging any medications.
All solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The person depositing the container should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
Intra-venous solutions, injectables, syringes or medical waste will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
