Rollover collision near Winlock

A Winlock man has been charged with negligent driving after rolling his truck near Winlock Nov. 27, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s office.

Michael Lion, 22, had been traveling on the 1400 block of King Rd., west of Winlock, when he attempted to pass another vehicle while on a sharp corner. His 2004 Nissan pickup spun out, then rolled into the ditch.

No injuries were reported, but Lion was cited for negligent driving, second degree.

Suspected drunk driver strikes tree near Winlock

A Winlock man is under investigation for DUI after crashing his car into a tree Nov. 27, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s office.

David M. Hagstrom, 63, had been traveling on the 100 block of Nelson Rd., south of Winlock, when his 1991 Ford Taurus veered off the roadway, striking a tree.

He was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with minor injuries and, while there, deputies took a blood sample and expect to charge him with DUI, pending the results of the blood test.

Suspected drunk driver severely injured

A Winlock man was severely injured in a suspected DUI collision Nov. 27, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Vicente A. Mendez, 51, had been traveling north on N. Military Rd., east of Winlock, when he failed to stop at the intersection of Koontz Rd. and drove his 1993 Dodge Dakota into the embankment, causing major front-end damage to the vehicle.

Mendez was already being transported to Providence Centralia Hospital when deputies arrived, having suffered facial and internal injuries. A blood sample was taken and deputies expect to charge Mendez with DUI, pending the results of the blood test.

Portable engine stolen near Toledo

Investigators are seeking information regarding a stolen Briggs and Stratton motor believed to have been taken sometime last month, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The 40-horsepower motor had been stolen sometime between Nov. 10 and 24 from a residence at the end of Coleman Rd., east of Toledo. The estimated loss is $8,000.

Pickup stolen near Winlock

A Kalama man reported his truck had been stolen from the Winlock area while on vacation last week, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The 61-year-old victim said he had flown out of state between Nov. 24 and 25 and, sometime during those dates, his 1999 Dodge Ram (license plate B71475X) had been stolen from the 400 block of SR 505, east of Winlock. The estimated loss is $8,000.
