Deer Collision injures Cali. man near Toledo
A California man escaped with relatively slight injuries after his motorcycle collided with a deer Thursday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The 55-year-old San Francisco resident had been traveling northbound on SR 505 near milepost 16, southeast of Toledo, when his 2012 BMW R1200GS collided with a deer that had wandered into the roadway.

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision and fractured his collarbone upon impacting the ground, for which he was later transported to Providence Centralia Hospital. The vehicle was described as having suffered reportable damage and was towed from the scene.

The deer, however, did not survive the collision.

Toledo man booked for alleged unlawful imprisonment
A Toledo man has been arrested after allegedly restraining a woman against her will, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Rupp W. Freece, 22, of Toledo, was apprehended Thursday for an incident alleged to have taken place the week before in which Freece had been intoxicated while visiting a residence on the 200 block of Howe Rd. E., northeast of Toledo. Freece reportedly took hold of a 61-year-old female resident and dragged her down a hallway into a bedroom, letting go of her after she began to scream. Members of the household then forced Freece to leave and, upon being arrested, Freece was booked into the Lewis County Jail for unlawful imprisonment.

Wheelchair ramp stolen near Toledo
Supposed metal thieves stole a wheelchair ramp among other items from a residence near Toledo last week, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Believed to have taken place sometime between Thursday evening and Sunday evening on the 600 block of Evans Rd., east of Toledo, stolen were a portable wheelchair ramp and two ladders from the property.

The loss was estimated at around $2,200.
