Senior Center holding Holiday Bazaar

The Olequa Senior Center will be holding their annual Holiday Bazaar this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With 20 vendors booked for the event, items suitable for birthdays, anniversaries, decorating and Christmas will be available, as well as lunch from the kitchen. Proceeds from booth rentals and lunches will benefit ongoing Senior Center activities.

Winlock ready for Kids Night Out

The Winlock Lions Club will be hosting a Kids Night Out on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Winlock Community Building.

Featuring Bingo and free snacks, admission will be one can of food for one Bingo card, or two cans of food for two Bingo cards, with donations being contributed to the Winlock-Vader Food Bank. The event begins at 6 p.m. and parents/chaperones are invited to stay. For more information, call Jeanie Emmenegger at (360) 785-4817.

Hazardous weather training scheduled for this month in Chehalis

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office has announced an upcoming training event for amateur and experienced weather spotters hosted by the National Weather Service.

Scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Sheriff's Office in Chehalis (345 W. Main St.), this event will seek to train weather spotters of all experiences levels how to look for and report significant weather events using amateur radio, Community Emergency Response Teams, citizen corps and law enforcement staff, among other resources.

Space for this class is limited to 40 individuals and those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to Lewis County Emergency Management at (360) 740-1151 mailto:dem@lewiscountywa.gov.

Women invited to World Community Day event

Local women are invited to attend Church Women United World Community Day this Saturday at St Joseph Catholic Parish Center in Chehalis.

The theme is "Through God Our Hands Can Heal" and with discussions about how church members can better become the Body of Christ. A skit will also be performed by the church based on the Healing of the Bent over Woman from Luke 13.

The church is located at 157 SW 6th St., in Chehalis, and those with questions can call (360) 748-4953.
