Ribbon cutting for CR’s Front Ave. project

Castle Rock will be hosting a ribbon cutting and volunteer celebration Thursday, May 8, to celebrate the completion of the Front Ave. construction project.

Scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. at the intersection between Front Ave. and Huntington Ave., the public is welcome to attend this event acknowledging the great deal of planning and resources invested in refurbishing the street.

A reception with refreshments is expected to follow in the clock tower of Cowlitz River Dental (358 Front. Ave NW). For more information, contact Dave Vorse at (360) 274-7478.

BYU Singers coming to Centralia College

The Brigham Young University Singers will be performing at Centralia Community College “Corbet Theatre,” on May 9 at 7 p.m.

Led by Dr. Ronald J. Staheli, founding conductor of the choir, the BYU Singers have traveled to more than 27 countries throughout the world. Tickets range between $7 and $11 and pre-purchases are available, though only by check or money order.

Benefit planned for wife of late Ron Pedersen

A benefit dinner and silent auction has been planned for Saturday at the Toledo Senior Center to help Pauline “Polly” Pedersen, who recently suffered the loss of husband Roland “Ron” Pedersen after a lengthy stay in the hospital.

Scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., a dinner of chicken Alfredo, vegetables, salad, rolls and desert will be served prior to an auction to help pay for medical expenses. Tickets for the dinner are $8 for adults and $6 for children.
