Long-time Lewis County resident Arny Davis announced today that he will run for the position of Lewis County Treasurer in 2014. Davis is looking to fill the seat currently held by 20-year incumbent Treasurer Rose Bowman who has announced her retirement at the end of her term.

"Rose has served Lewis County very well, and I hope to continue her legacy of managing this important office for the citizens of Lewis County with the utmost integrity" said Davis, who will have served as Bowman’s chief deputy for over two and half years at the end of her term. "My current role in the office as Chief Deputy Treasurer combined with over thirty years of business management, finance and banking experience make me an ideal candidate to serve the citizens of Lewis County as their next Treasurer. I believe the citizens are served best by a Treasurer with real world working knowledge of business and finance combined with best practices of government."

Davis has lived in Lewis County since 1968, when at the age of 11 he moved with his family to a dairy farm west of Chehalis. He graduated from Boistfort High School in 1976 and attended Centralia College before embarking on a 35-year career that has included sales and marketing, business ownership, and commercial banking. He also served a short stint as the Director of the Centralia Chamber of Commerce in 2000.

Davis has served on the Lewis County planning commission for 10 years and is currently Commission Chairman. He served for four years as CFO for the House Republican Organizational Committee, an Olympia-based organization dedicated to recruiting and electing candidates to the state House of Representatives. Davis has also been active in political campaigns in Lewis County and the 20th Legislative District. He is a member of the Centralia Community Church of God and the Twin City Rotary Club.
