Raymond Police received an anonymous tip on Tuesday, June 5 that led to the arrest of two juveniles in connection with the burglary at the Menlo store and attempted burglary at Riverdale Grocery.
According to Raymond Police Chief Chuck Spoor the department received an anonymous tip that led them to a residence where the two were staying. A joint-operation between Raymond PD and the Pacific County Sheriff's Office landed both suspects in custody. "Deputy Jesse Eastham set up surveillance of the home," Chief Spoor stated. "He was able to notice the stolen items through a window and immediately called for backup. While waiting for me to arrive one of the suspects came outside and he was able to arrest him."
After arriving on scene Chief Spoor and Deputy Eastham quickly had both suspects in custody. One of the juveniles was a runaway and was turned over to CPS. The juvenile was later able to escape CPS custody and is now on the run. "We believe he will most likely return to the same residence at some point," Chief Spoor stated. "I am highly certain we will catch him again."
Chief Spoor commends Deputy Eastham for his outstanding work during the investigation. "He is a hard worker," Chief Spoor stated. "He did a good job of keeping eyes on the home and was lucky enough one of the suspects came outside."
Deputy Eastham has had a very productive 2018 so far as he was also the deputy who caught two escaped inmates who jumped out of a DNR work bus a few months back. Deputy Eastham was able to catch both suspects in thick brush after a tip from a resident and massive manhunt for the two.
"Jesse just is one of those guys who the storm finds," Chief Spoor stated. "He's a great deputy and great to work with."
