On Monday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m Mayor Don Bradshaw resigned his position as mayor for the City of Winlock, but not before taking a dig at the new council.
Mayor Bradshaw resigned leaving a resignation note: "Do To Failing health brought on by The Miss Conduct of The lawless Council, I will Step away From The Office of Mayor of The City of Winlock as of 1:00 p.m. This Day." Letter printed as written. The council has not done anything illegal but Mayor Bradshaw has, yet he called them lawless.
The Toledo Indian girls basketball team season came to an end, but not before they won a chance to play at state.
The final game was against Tri-Cities Prep, a private school, Toledo fell short by one win to bring home hardware. The score was 39-44, with the Jaguar's taking the lead in the first quarter in Spokane, Washington. The Indians ended their season with a 23-6 record, the first time going to State in over 10 years.
Every third Thursday, the Adventist Community Services host a free meal at their Soup Kitchen at 1134 Crescent Street in Raymond. The next meal will be on Thursday, March 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. They invite anyone who needs a hot meal to come and enjoy.
