On Wednesday, November 13 at approximately 9:00 p.m., a house fire engulfed the home located at 108 N.E. Laurel Ave. in Winlock. The call came in as a residential structural fire with smoke and visible flames.

When the firefighters arrived, they found a home engulfed in flames from the side of the structure. All occupants were out of the home. The home threatened a detached garage and travel trailer.

Pastor Tracy Durham of Vader Assembly of God church was a part of the 2019 Paradigm World Mission trip which took place in Brazil. Here he met with other church leaders of Assembly of God Church.

While there Pastor Tracy and the other missionaries were able to help out one of the local assemblies substantially with financial assistance. A lot of visiting and fellowship occurred with a small amount of site seeing. Much of their intended plans however, changed rather quickly as they found themselves amidst a citywide revolt.

In Bolivia, election day is a national holiday. Businesses close. Transportation comes to a standstill and everyone becomes a pedestrian. There are vendors on the streets from 7:00 a.m. until the 8:30 p.m. curfew. The mission crew were in the city on this day in meeting at a local restaurant enjoying lunch when they were warned by a local that there was a large demonstration coming down the road of angry citizens.

SOUTH BEND - South Bend turned in a rewarding first season of 8-man football under first-year head coach Chuck Spoor. The Indians completed a winning season at 5-2, or 6-2 if you count the forfeit against Taholah. Consider the fact that the WIAA wouldn't let South Bend play in a league and get a chance to compete in the postseason, the Indians showed up for every game with a positive mental attitude and ready to play and accounted for themselves with a lot of class.

"I'm very proud of the team and staff for putting together a successful season," Coach Spoor told the Herald. (We) definitely met expectations."

From the first day of practice until the final game, Coach Spoor believed his team progressed.

During a roof repair over Thorbeckes in South Bend, a dangerous structural issue was uncovered, which resulted in the temporary closure of Thorbeckes and the Department of Licensing office.

On a red sign posted on the building is a Do Not Enter notice for 307 E. Robert Bush Drive, South Bend. The notice states that the building is dangerous to enter and occupy. "The building or structure is deemed dangerous under many of the provisions of Section 302 of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings," states the notice.
